The Boy & the Moon

Debut Picture Book by therapist & author Bridget Kleinert, LCSW

Why Picture Books for Grownups?

Children aren’t the only ones growing.

Many of us are still learning how to navigate relationships, handle disappointment, make sense of our experiences, and live meaningful lives. While picture books are often seen as tools for teaching children, I believe they can also be powerful invitations for adults to reflect, connect, and grow.

Picture Books for Grownups was created to help people engage with stories in a deeper way. Through books, reflection, conversation, school visits, and therapeutic insight, my goal is to spark meaningful discussions about the things that matter most.

Because sometimes the simplest stories have the most to teach us.

"Absolutely enchanting story!"

"The Boy and the Moon is a beautifully written, calming bedtime story that captures the quiet magic of noticing the world around us. But what truly makes this book shine are the gorgeous, tender illustrations — every page feels like a little work of art. And the best part? There’s a cat on almost every page and it adds a fun, charming touch to the dreamy nighttime scenes. It’s peaceful, poetic, and full of heart — a perfect read for sensitive, curious kids and a lovely way to end the day together. Highly recommend!" - Rusty, Amazon customer

"Magic and Wonder for all ages"

"This beautifully written book touched my heart. As a teacher with a background in social/emotional learning, I have always said that children deserve to learn as much about their internal worlds as their external world. For me, this book connected these two worlds, and that is a magical thing. We need to help children have a sense of wonder in their childhoods again. They need to slow down, along with us big people. I highly recommend this book and also recommend following the author who is a therapist. She is absolutely brilliant at communicating the deeper and profound wisdom found in children's books and why they have a place in big people's lives, too. The illustrations are beautiful and convey that sense of wonder, and the book is filled with thoughtful details and extras. Can't recommend it enough." - Amazon customer
